Description
We only use natural gemstones that are cut to size in a complex process and sorted by hand in a multi-stage selection process.
After the first multiple sorting, the stones are cut into a brilliant shape and polished, after which they are sorted again according to size, colour and purity.
As a rule, a maximum of 1% of each rough stone can be used for our precious objects. In order to achieve the highest possible quality, all work is carried out by hand and by experienced specialists.
As few foreign inclusions as possible and a concise colour are the characteristics that correspond to our quality standard.
The typical colour of a London topaz is a deep transparent blue. It is available in all shades.
Topaz rates an 8 on the hardness scale. It is a hard, brilliant stone with a fine colour spectrum. In fact, the colour of a topaz is more important than the size when determining its value. Topaz occurs naturally in a range of colours and is heat-treated to produce the most popular shades. Genuine topaz occurs in shades ranging from colourless to yellow, orange, red or brown and is sometimes irradiated to produce blue colours. The term "imperial topaz" refers to stones with a fine peach to reddish-orange colour. Today, pink, blue and honey-coloured stones are the most sought after, while deep golden yellow and pink are the most valuable (natural pink stones are rare - most are heat-treated yellow stones).
